The Music
The event featured a world-class lineup of musical artists in genres ranging from otherworldly electronic music to the more earth-bound sounds of world, rock, and jazz music.
The evening saw a special debut of the new band Telstarócomprised of Phil Lesh (of Grateful Dead fame), Steve Molitz, and John Moloówho performed exploratory jams accompanied by psychedelic visuals.
The San Francisco Jazz Mafia played their brand of New Orleans brass ensemble music and Gamelan X combined the sounds of Indonesian, Balkan, African, Indian and American traditions.
Freezepop performed synth music reminiscent of early 80s pop. LVD, with MC Souleye, combined elements of hip-hop, house and breakbeat on the tarmac stage. (See video of the performance below)
Sweet Snacks, a pop and dance synth trio, performed a song written especially for Yuri's Night on the tarmac stage (Below is video sample). Also on the tarmac stage was funk rock trio Particle.
