The Music (Continued) [a]pendics (a.k.a Kenneth James) performed a mix of glitched-out electro techno, as did Tycho--a music project of San Francisco based artist and producer Scott Hansenówhose soundscape was entwined with visual landscapes (See video below).
Lulacruza offered a fusion sound created using South American instruments modified by electronic manipulation. DERU performed an amalgamation of hip-hop, electronica and IDM.
Another combination of music styles on the tarmac stage: Oyoyo (a.k.a. Rasaki Aladokun) fused his deep bass & afro-dub with the Yossi Fineís and their funk/afro-tribal beats & riddims. And dub vibes combined with MJ Greenmountainís unique modern World Music.
Eskimo (Brendan Angelides) played his brand of fusion techno. (See video below).
Speakers
The list of featured speakers included NASA scientists and other pioneers of space exploration and radical technology. Among them were legendary Apollo 11 Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, who appeared on stage at the grand opening, and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and NASA dignitaries:

Saul Griffith of Makani Power, an innovative company seeking to harness high-altitude wind energy, displayed a model of the companyís wind-powered hydrofoil boat, developed by founder Don Montague. Stewart Brand, creator of the Whole Earth Catalog and founder of The Long Now Foundation, also offered remarks. (The Long Now Foundation is a private organization that seeks to become the seed of a long-term cultural institution, and promotes "slower/better" thinking as a counterpoint to what it views as today's "faster/cheaper" mindset.)
Jaron Lanier spoke about an innovative approach to communicating with distant life by rearranging the stars in order to send signals to aliens.
NASA Astrobiologist Jonathan Trent (left photo), leader of the new NASA team, spoke about green technology research at Ames Research Center. World-renowned video game designer Will Wright--creator of The Sims, SimCity, and SimEarth--discussed SPORE, his new game which explores the concepts of life, evolution and exploration (See video below).
