3—JUPITER AND BEYOND THE INFINITE

The third stage is called "Jupiter and Beyond"—The Discovery reaches Jupiter and orbits the moon Io, where the third black monolith is orbiting. The commander leaves the ship in his space pod and chases the monolith. When he approaches the strange apparition, it disappears and turns space inside out, and we are soon traveling through time and space. We pass exploding stars and new galaxies and alien worlds. We soon see our shaken friend land inside a hotel suite without windows. We see him discover his new surroundings and age before our eyes. It is obvious that our hidden alien friends capture him.
Now a very old man, our commander lies in bed and sees a forth black monolith appear in the room before he dies and is reborn as a new star child with superpowers. The star child goes home to Earth and begins the next stage of evolution. Next page
