The World Tonight: Space Odyssey Events
The International Space Development Conference (ISDC) is the annual meeting of the National Space Society. For the past 19 years, leaders in the space community have met with space advocates and enthusiasts for advancement in space exploration. Hosted each year by a local chapter of the NSS, ISDC is held in cities across the United States. At each conference, local and national aerospace companies, institutions and the general public have participated in the conference activities. Traditionally held during the Memorial Day weekend, the 20th annual conference was hosted by the Albuquerque Section of the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA), together with the New Mexico Chapter of the NSS, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. ISDC 2001 offered many opportunities to meet with space scientists and other prominent people, who continue to lead us into the new millennium as the 21st-Century's Odyssey begins.
During 2001, Robert K. Freeman, Sr. Engineer of the Science Applications International Corp., sent me press releases about the 2001 conference which its theme was "2001: A Space Odyssey", so we may reach out to "2001" fans. He has given us permission to post his MPG movies and PDF slide show of the event. For futher information about ISDC, go to their website at www.nsschapters.org/isdc/2008/. Click on the thumbnails to download PDF but movie files are not vailable at this time. We should have the files in April.
