UPDATE - April 25, 2001:

Greetings from Dennis Gonzales

33 years later.

33 years later. After being away for so long between emails, now you're getting back-to back reports from the world of "2001". I've been watching NASA TV all week on my computer. Watching the green hills of Earth pass by the Space Station is as surreal as watching the Pan Am Orion and space station five in "2001: a space odyssey." "2001" is really here. There are a few important details I've forgotten to tell you. Warner Brothers emailed me to report that they are coming out with a new "2001" DVD release this summer and a film release this October in selective theaters. So stop your complaining and start preparing for a "2001" celebration!
One more note, the Discovery Spacecraft will be at the Tech Museum next month. It is the most accurate model ever built since the real version was destroyed 33 years ago. More about the Discovery One in another newsletter.

Here in my own backyard, The San Francisco International Film Festival will be showing the Jan Harlan film documentary of Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures on May 3rd & 4th. A fan from this website, Jeff Grote has invited me to the first night and some local Kubrick fans and "2001 exhibit" collectors from the Tech Museum will be at the first showing as well. So, if you're out there from the Bay Area, why don't you all meet us on the 2nd or email me if you like to engage in our rendezvous. Sir Clarke recently reported to me that Jan Harlan had sent him a copy of the film but hasn't reviewed it yet. For further information about " Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures", go to http://www.sffs.org/titleDetail.asp?title_id=130

Jean Marc Deschamps has updated me with a new web page with Quick Time movies of his successful "2001" exhibition in Paris, France. He promises more photos and information will follow, so keep visiting his web site and I'll keep you up to date. He says that if you missed his exhibition, he is planning more. Go to http://www.multimania.com/dixiemeplanete/expo2001.htm

The San Jose Tech Museum of Innovation now has the "2001:DESTINATION SPACE" web site up and running. Since I am a web designer, my personal review is an excellent and well navigated interactive on-line exhibit this side of the Earth or World Wide Web. Go to http://www.thetech.org/2001ds/index.html

Dr. Stork has reminded me that his PBS television special, "HAL's Legacy" will be shown on PBS. For further information go to his website at Dr. Stork has reminded me that his PBS television special, "HAL's Legacy" will be shown on PBS. For further information go to his website at http://sucia.stanford.edu/~stork/HALTalks.html

As I said last email, we're updating and changing the entire web site. You will notice some missing pictures or even web pages as we go under a major reconstruction. This weekend, we are showing casing Andrea Edelman's superb costume of the Space Station Five female uniform and Scott Alexander's Space Pod built by Mark Watson and I.

I apologize for the inconvenience if you run into any missing elements on this website. My last email had broken links, which are now fixed. Pages updated that had broken links in my last newsletter are,

And download this website's groovy poster
