Aug 6, 2001:

Greetings from Dennis Gonzales

33 years later.

No - it's not Wednesday but there is a delay in opening up the ARTS section and parts of the Technology/Science sections. I'll be at the next (STS105) Space Shuttle launch, Thursday 9, 2001. Most appropriately, Shuttle Discovery will be the next mission to the International Space Station with a fresh crew and important payload. To read about the mission profile, go to http://www.shuttlepresskit.com/STS-105. This special invitation is from Lockheed-Martin's Public Affairs Office for the exhibition idea and success that they were very happy to support. I like to thank Buddy Nelson from Lockheed-Martin for the special invite and making this year a real "2001: a space odyssey." Pictures and video will be posted on the 2001exhibit.org site later this month.

Updated this week is our Gift Store section and Electronic Cards sections. We've added new features in the Science and Technology sections. Read Matt Ventimiglia's article, "2001: An African Odyssey" in the DAWN OF MAN section and AI researcher Randy Jensen's "AI or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Robots" in the AI section.

We should have more new features, new models and regular sections from the old site on Monday night.

Sorry for the delay butI'll see you next Wednesday (Frank)
