Nov. 14, 2001:

Greetings from Dennis Gonzales

33 years later.

Quick updates for the second week of November.

Thank you for posting a story about "2001: A Space Odyssey", on the Retrospect page at http://www.2001exhibit.org/acceptit_3/ldisplay.cgi?deluxe

And thank you for listening to the "Yellow Submarine" radio show last weekend on the soundtrack track show at www.kfjc.org. We had some nice response during the broadcast.

The arts section has been updated with a new category, "2001 Fan Collection", featuring Derek Heatly from Belfast, N. Ireland. He shares with us the "2001" shrine, http://www.2001exhibit.org/arts/heatly_collect.html To contact Derek, email him at derekheatly@ntlworld.co.uk or write: 13c Farmhurst Green, Braniel, Belfast BTS 7PB, N. Ireland. If you have a nice "2001" collection you like to share on-line, send me your pictures by email or snail mail.

I've finally added a sitemap on the web site, go to http://www.2001exhibit.org/sitemap.html

    And

The Press section's "2001" Film Event page has been updated featuring places where "2001" has or will be shown, at http://www.2001exhibit.org/press/2001films.html

Speaking of "2001" showings, I haven't seen the film in over 6 years until I seen it with 3 friends recently, a guest from Germany - Ingolf Vonau, Photographer - Mark Watson and voice actor - Wally Fields in August on videodisc. I actually worked on the exhibition campaign and web site for the past 4 years without the aide of seeing the film because I thought working on the projects should come from the heart and memory if I was to be true to the spirit of the film. I can't wait to see "2001" on the 21st in San Francisco, to see how I did! Up to this point, I might have seen the film a couple hundred times, mostly on video the past 20 years.

Photographer, Mark Watson is now putting together the "2001:Destination Space" exhibit for the web site. The pictures truly match the spirit of the exhibit that I seen at a private slide show. We hope to share the exhibit on-line before the end of the month. I also had a chance to look through several dozen digital pictures of my trip to Kennedy Space Center and the two launches last August and will be posting pictures and story next week in the Introduction section.

The mailing list subscription script was broken the past few days but is working again. So, if you have a friend who like to be on this list for the email newsletter or if you want to unsubscribe yourself, go to http://www.2001exhibit.org/mailing.html

I'll be reorganizing and renovating the web site this month for the last time. So, keep sending email to me on the latest "2001/2010" news and keep checking the press section for updates. http://www.2001exhibit.org/2001expo.html

    Thank you.

    See you next Wednesday (Frank)
