| UPDATE: Sep 13, 2001: Greetings from Dennis Gonzales 33 years later.
Mr. Liddy not only predicted the future accurately but also wrote the script of our fate in the year 1999. He was off by two years but it was warning that Omni says in Mr. Liddy's memorandum "that terrorism might strike at home in the all-too-near future-in the hands of a small, Communist-backed cadre. These terrorists would hit power plants, rail lines, airports, and natural gas pipelines. Although Liddy's tale is pure speculation, it is based on technologies and tactics that are real." Pure speculation? What put a chill through my spine is that this type of warfare of the 21st Century was reported two decades ago. Omni says, "knocking out these essential parts of a country's infrastructure is also a preferred way to wage modern war, say proponents of a new, deadly strategy called low-intensity conflict. This approach is exemplified in a profusion of brushfire conflicts around the globe: Freedom fighters in Nicaragua and Afghanistan do it; Marxist rebels in El Salvador do it. But so do the Irish Republican Army, the Palestine Liberation Organization, and Red Army Faction. How military strategy evolved to this sort of warfare-and the likelihood that will backfire, fanning terrorism's flames and bringing it all back home." Times have changed of course and it's not a Communist-backed cadre but a different type of evil that has come back to haunt us in our worst nightmare that even Mr. Liddy couldn't imagine himself. I highly recommend you seek this issue out if you like to know the terrorist ultimate game plans as well as how it was grown. In it you will find how our airlines, and stock markets topple our economy and much more. It's not science fiction anymore. Kubrick explored mankind's violent nature, which was demonstrated in 2001: A Space Odyssey and many of his other films. In 2001, mankind survived for 3 million years through warfare for the sake of survival. From the bone to the nuclear satellite, this type of civilized way of life seemed maddening but it worked. What didn't work according to the world of 2001 was when we made mistakes, which can end our way of life. We don't have a Star Child to help us with our ignorance. We only have ourselves. When I say "we", I mean the human race. Somewhere along the way, we need to stop the boat of progress and take a deep long breathe before moving on into the 21st Century and make sure nobody is left out in the human adventure.
