March 13, 2002:

Greetings from Dennis Gonzales

The past few weeks have been the most exciting for space research. Space Shuttle Columbia landed at the Kennedy Space Center at 4:32 a.m. EST Monday after a successful mission to refurbish the Hubble Space Telescope. I occasionally watched the space walks on my desktop via real media. Another fantastic feat in space exploration was the first images of the NASA’s Mars Odyssey Spacecraft relayed to JPL. The name "2001 Mars Odyssey" was selected as a tribute to the vision and spirit of space exploration as embodied in the works of renowned science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke.
